V Bedford Prep
Maidwell 10 Bedford 50
This was an emphatic win for Bedford who completely overpowered us in the first half scoring 7 tries without reply. They possessed more strength and speed than we did and used this to their great advantage. The second half was a much closer event and we did produce some good rugby scoring 2 excellent tries. This however was never going to make a difference to the outcome but did instill some confidence into our boys for forthcoming matches.
V Spratton Hall
Maidwell 10 Spratton 35
Maidwell played some enjoyable rugby in this match but Spratton were just too strong for us. They also had far too much pace and were able to capitalise on this when we made errors. Alexander Palmer managed to score two wonderful individual tries and was by far the most accomplished rugby player in the Under 10B side. There was also a very gutsy performance from Archie Clifton-Brown.
V Swanbourne House
Maidwell 30 Swanbourne 50
This was a very entertaining match in which 16 tries were scored in total. In truth Maidwell played the better team rugby but every time we got close to the Swanbourne try line and made an error they managed to use their pace advantage and run the length of the pitch to score. But the boys thoroughly enjoyed the game and, yet again, Alexander Palmer managed to score some wonderful individual tries. There were also very good individual performances from George Pease and Archie Clifton-Brown.

Maidwell 0 Spratton 40
Maidwell struggled in this match against an extremely strong Spratton side. From the moment we lost Alex Palmer in the morning needing to attend a dentist appointment I knew we were in a great deal of trouble. We did improve in the second half when our tackling became more competitive but unfortunately we never looked like scoring. Charles Granby was our player of this match and he did work extremely hard throughout the game.

Maidwell 0 Bedford 60
Bedford were far too strong for our boys and cut though our defence almost at will. The boys remained enthusiastic in the face of a big defeat but unfortunately we only had Charles Granby and George Pease with enough resistance to hold up an extremely strong Bedford B team. There were one or two isolated good phases of play from Maidwell which showed they have improved over the course of the term.
