Boarding and Day School for Boys and Girls Aged 7-13

The first boarding girls arrived at Maidwell last September and this September we have 18 in the school in all year groups bar Form I (year 8); all but one of these girls are boarders. They have settled in quickly and are enjoying the newly refurbished accommodation provided for them in 'Uppers'. It is anticipated that the new girls' house will be opened in April 2013.


  • Weekly Boarding is available for the first years (year 4) as well as full boarding and day;
  • Weekly Boarding allows the girls to go home at lunchtime on Saturdays and return on Sunday evenings;
  • We have a full fixture list for hockey and we have a new Astro-Turf hockey pitch;
  • Netball is the major girls sport in the Lent Term and our new netball courts are now finished;
  • Tennis, rounders and athletics are the main girls' games in the summer term;
  • Girls participate fully in all the other sports that we offer such as swimming, squash and cross-country running;
  • Our activity programme has been redesigned to include craft, textiles and dance;
  • We are offering a 25% discount off the fees for girl boarders for 2011/12 as part of our start-up arrangements;
  • Final plans for the exciting new girls' boarding house, due to be opened in 2013, are now well advanced and are available for public viewing;
