Form II Peak District Trip - April 2009

Form II were back early at the beginning of term in order to head to the Peak District for the usual 3 days of Geography Fieldwork and Outward Bound. For the second year in a row conditions were not ideal for the Geography work and the river Goyt was rather low, but very profitable research was completed nonetheless. This year there was the addition of a visit to a local eco-farm. Friday night was spent camping at Haytop south of Cromford and then on the Saturday the boys spent the morning sailing, windsurfing and raft building at Carsington Reservoir. It was extremely windy which made for exciting sailing. The wind dropped in the afternoon and orienteering on Cromford Moor was much enjoyed in the warmth of the sunshine. It had been a busy and thoroughly enjoyable 3 days.
