Form II were back early at the beginning of term in order to head to the Peak District for the usual 3 days of Geography Fieldwork and Outward Bound. For the third year in a row conditions were not ideal for the Geography work and the river Goyt was rather low, but very profitable research was completed nonetheless. The repeat visit to a local eco-farm was a great success and the Hartington Hall Youth Hostel provided first class accommodation as usual. Friday night was spent camping at Haytop, south of Cromford, and then on the Saturday the boys spent the morning sailing, windsurfing and raft building at Carsington Reservoir. It was a sorching hot day and orienteering on Cromford Moor was much enjoyed in the warmth of the sunshine. It had been a busy and thoroughly enjoyable 3 days. |
