Brigadier Ed Butler DSO MBE - An Army Career

Brigadier Butler currently commands 16 Air Assault Brigade and is
the youngest Army Brigadier.

He has seen active service in Afghanistan, Sierra Leone, Macedonia,
Kosovo, Albania, Bosnia and Northern Ireland. He was appointed
MBE in 1997 and was awarded the DSO in 2002; he has also been
mentioned in dispatches and twice received the Queen's
Commendation for Valuable Service.

We were indeed privileged to have a visit from him to give a lecture
about his time in the army. He showed us some very interesting
photographs as part of his powerpoint display and told us some
exciting stories. He also told us about some of the things he got up
to when he was a boy at Maidwell!
