The Maidwell under 10’s played well but had a very unlucky loss to Wellingborough of 7-1. The boys missed some good chances in attack which the opposition were soon to pounce on and take control of the game. An amazing long range goal by Arthur Fenwicke-Clennell kept the Maidwell boys in the game with a first half score of 3-1. More missed opportunities by the home side let the opposition take control of the game again early in the second half, although the Maidwell boys attitude of 'never say die' kept the opposition's score lower than it could have been. Hearty congratulations to Maidwell who maintained their team spirit throughout the game even though they were playing against a much stronger team.

On a very soggy afternoon, the U10's struggled against a very skillful team. They did play better as the game went on and at least they managed to score through Harry Chubb. |
