Martin Wills Fishing Hut
Official Opening by Lady Wills

On Sunday 26th April 2009 we were delighted to welcome Lady Wills, accompanied by Liell Francklin (father of Jack), back to the school for the first time for 45 years. She was here to open the Martin Wills Fishing Hut which the Martin Wills Trust had donated to the school in memory of her son who was a pupil at Maidwell from 1960-65. Following our annual hymn service in Church the school and visiting parents assembled down by the boat house. After a few words from the Headmaster, Lady Wills unveiled the plaque to her son and the hut was officially opened. We have about 25 boys receiving fishing coaching this term and there is room in the new hut for all their rods and bags. It was entirely appropriate that the first trout to be caught this term was landed by Archie Clifton-Brown that very morning.
