47 boys travelled to Spratton Hall for their anual athletics event. It was a well run event which all athletes and spectators enjoyed. Maidwell competed well finishing a pleasing 2nd in the field events but 3rd overall. There were some strong performances throughout with Jack Gray coming first equal in the high jump and Edward Ashton Johnson winning his heat in the hurdles. Julian Martin Smith and Harry Allhusen competed well in the long jump and were just beaten to 2nd place. Fergus Wright also ran extremely well in the 100m as well as competing in the Year 8 hurdles along with Archie Wilson. There were also encouraging performances in Forms II, III and V which bodes well for next year. |
